Given the increasing scale of my work, I decided to book out the life room to experiment with something more ambitious.
I am not completely satisfied with the outcome of the work I did in the space as I feel I needed longer that the two days I had. I also felt overwhelmed by the possibilities the new space allowed for, not to mention a pressure to make something more refined/ better than the work I had made in my studio. Nonetheless, in hindsight, working in the space was very useful and lead to new developments.
On the second and last day, I spent the morning categorizing all of my materials, grouping them into their different specific materials, etc rocks, wood, steel, aluminium, foam. It was interesting doing this as at times the system made sense/ was benificial to me while at several instances I felt I could have arranged them in a number of other catagories including hardness/sofness, colour, scale, weight. Catagorising my materials, and realising the grouping I had come to was one of many others, made me understand the materials in a different way
