Shaddows

At first for the shadows I tried using vegetable oil which I bought, however I found that it bled out too much and didn’t allow for the sharp edges I wanted (see above). As a result I went back to using liquin which I found worked best. I tried painting the shadows by hand however I decided I found using masking tape more accurate. To make the shadows I positioned my phone torch at my objects and marked out the shadows with masking tape, then filled them in with liquin. Later I experimented with deviating from being so accurate, favoring bolder shapes which were most visually striking/ readable. I think it would be funny to play around with creating shadows that don’t match the objects casting them.
