Rivane Neuenschwander, Commonplace (1999) – squares made using talcum powder brushed over the gallery floor. Executed by gallery assistants not the artist. I enjoyed the translucency of the work, the talcum powder allowing the floor beneath to be visible. This worked especially well with the concrete floor of the tanks at Tate Modern which has a number of subtle cracks. The work seemed to frame the gallery floor, brining a different awareness to it. I enjoyed how Neuenschwander played with the sensitive and tactile feelings the talcum powder evoked along with its delicate and precarious state.

Dora Maurer, Timing (1973/1980) – a film consisting of four separate films to look like a single image of a piece of fabric being folded. The film of a creased piece of fabric was projected onto an identical piece of fabric, itself creased.

Fischli & Weiss, Untitled (Tate) (1992–2000). Exact replicas of everyday objects made using acrylic paint on polyurethane foam and other materials. Even before reading about this all the objects seemed to have a strange matt finish, as if coated with something. I would like to be able to touch these objects and I wish it didn’t take an artist replicating these objects for me to appreciate them as much. The composition of the objects was very sophisticated, especially the main table.
Yin Xiuzhen, Weapon (2003–7). Really love Xiuzhens use of repurposed cloths in her practice. Knives remind me of Kounellis.
